How we research, review and update standards and compliance content.
Primary sources first
We prioritise legislation, regulators, standards bodies and other official publications. Secondary sources may help identify an issue or explain industry practice, but legal requirements and deadlines are checked against primary sources whenever those sources are available.
How guides are prepared
- Define the intended reader and the questions the page must answer.
- Review the applicable law, standard or regulator guidance.
- Separate binding requirements from guidance, proposals and implementation timelines.
- Translate source material into scope tests, responsibility maps and practical actions.
- Link material claims to sources so readers can verify them.
Authorship and automation
Standardful Team is an organisational byline for content produced through our editorial workflow. Research, drafting and editing may use automation or AI assistance. Automation is not treated as a source. Material claims are checked against the cited publications, and we do not present generated text as professional legal advice.
Dates and updates
Articles show their publication date and, when materially revised, an updated date. Time-sensitive guides identify the source version or review date used. A newer law, delegated act, regulator decision or standards revision may supersede a page after publication, so readers should confirm current requirements with the linked authority.
Corrections
We correct factual errors and unclear statements when identified. Material revisions update the page's modified date and, where relevant, its source list or implementation status. Cosmetic changes do not receive a new date solely to make content appear fresh.
Independence and limitations
Editorial coverage is selected for its relevance to standards and compliance users. Standardful provides general information, not legal, certification or conformity-assessment advice. Organisations should obtain advice appropriate to their products, role and jurisdiction before relying on a compliance decision.
